Interview with Mr. Boguslaw Czapliński, an activist of anti-communist opposition in the 80's.
Adam Czaplinski: - participated in the strike, Mr. Olsztyn Graphic Works in August 1981. Do you remember how he ran?
Boguslaw Czaplinski: - Yes, I remember it very well. Our factory was out the longest. This was our expression of support for nationwide strikes. We had the support of society. Outsiders, people brought us food, cigarettes, and reiterated our spirits. Hung a cross on the wall establishments. If I'm not mistaken, it was in honor of a young boy been murdered by the communists in that region.
AC: - What fought the opposition?
BC: - The opposition was very divided. The extreme leftists mostly derived from the Workers' Defence Committee fought for social democracy, but rather a power exercised in this system. It was the most positivistic opposition group. Right wing of the broad solidarity movement, in particular, depended on the change in the free market economic system. Among them there were also supporters of monarchists and authoritarian rule.
AC: - Stanislaw Michalkiewicz stated that currently we are dealing with "capitalism kompradorskim", consisting in a strong regime of regulation of the market and exploit the economic advantages of a narrow group of persons acting in advance of the communist system.
BC: - It is true, and therefore I am not happy with the changes made in our country. Okrągłostołowe provisions gave the Communists an impact on the power again, the majority of GDP is worked out in so-called. "Gray zone", a ubiquitous bureaucracy deters potential entrepreneur, so that our economy is not developing as it should.
AC: - Was there any chance of avoiding this situation?
BC - I think it was. She fell, however, together with the government of Jan Olszewski and called dekomunizacja. Now the change is probably already too late.
